Paolo Siniscalco, filologo alla scuola di Michele Pellegrino
Abstract
The article examines Paolo Siniscalco’s student career and his first years of academic activity, based on the documentation preserved in the University of Turin’s Historical Archives, his degree thesis and PhD dissertation, as well as his first publications. The Key role of Michele Pellegrino for Siniscalco’s intellectual and philological formation emerges, not only as a teacher and scholar, but also for many aspects that characterised Siniscalco’s subsequent activity: the care for the spreading of the results of academic research in broader contexts, the sensitivity to contemporary issues while respecting the rigour of the historical approach, a lively participation in the actual events of the Catholic Church, in those years characterised by the unfolding of the Second Vatican Council and its consequences.
